Georgetown Activities Council (GAC) is a student-led organization that provides Georgetown College students with entertaining and fun activities, including some of GC’s best traditions. Our goal is to provide students with opportunities to make new friends and have fun, while making their college experience unforgettable!
Traditions
Georgetown College has some unique and special traditions and GAC has the privilege of hosting these four major GC events. Be sure to save the dates because you don’t want to miss these!
WOW
WOW (Weeks of Welcome) is a collective effort from offices and organizations across campus to welcome new and returning students to Georgetown College during the first two weeks of the fall semester. WOW helps students learn about groups and resources on campus, meet new people, and have fun!
#GCWOW
Grubfest
GC’s dirtiest tradition—students battle to see who can win the most challenges and get the filthiest. Think food fights and tug o’ war in the mud!
Songfest
This Homecoming tradition is just as important as the football game—groups compete with skits written & performed by them, full of singing, dancing, & acting!
Hanging of the Green
Our Christmas tradition—a joyous service followed by candlelight singing around Giddings Circle as the campus Christmas lights come on.
Belle of the Blue & Beaus Too
GC’s oldest tradition—this annual scholarship pageant showcases the intelligence, talent, and poise of the ladies & men of GC.
